Hon. Arinzechukwu Awogu’s ambition to represent Ogbaru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives gained fresh momentum on Thursday as youths and women publicly threw their weight behind his 2027 bid.

The endorsement came during a gathering held at Umu-Daike Village in Atani, Ogbaru Local Government Area, where supporters from different political backgrounds agreed to back the APC candidate ahead of the January 16, 2027 National Assembly election.

Speaking at the meeting, the youths described Awogu as a dependable leader with the experience and ability needed to move the constituency forward. They said the time had come for Ogbaru to embrace a new direction and place its trust in someone they believe understands the needs of ordinary people.

According to them, Awogu enjoys strong grassroots support, remains easily accessible to the people, and possesses the qualities required to provide effective representation at the National Assembly.

The group stressed that, despite belonging to different political parties, they were prepared to set aside partisan interests and work towards ensuring his victory at the polls.

One of the youth leaders, Hon. Tochukwu Ike, praised Awogu’s record as a former Chairman of Ogbaru Local Government Area. He noted that the former council boss embarked on several development projects during his tenure and received recognition for his contributions to the growth of the area.

Ike argued that the constituency must make a careful choice in the next election, insisting that Awogu stands out among those seeking to represent the people in Abuja.

Women leaders at the event also expressed their support. Speaking on their behalf, Mrs Josephine Chukwuma said Awogu’s appeal extends beyond young people, describing him as a candidate embraced by women and residents who desire progress, good governance and development.

She said the large turnout at the meeting reflected the confidence many people have in Awogu’s leadership qualities and pledged that supporters would continue to mobilise backing for his candidature across communities in Ogbaru as preparations for the 2027 election gather pace.
