The Anambra Patriots for Good Governance, one of Anambra State's
leading socio-political support groups, has celebrated three prominent sons of
the state recently appointed by Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, describing
the appointments as a clear reward for competence, integrity and dedicated
service.
The colourful event, held at the group's ultra-modern secretariat at the Awka Trade Centre in Awka, attracted government officials, political stakeholders, members of the organisation and supporters from across the state. It served not only as a celebration of the honourees but also as a reaffirmation of the group's commitment to promoting good governance, transparency and excellence in public service.
Honoured at the event were the Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Arch. Okechukwu Ezeobi; the President of the Anambra Country Club, Awka, Ozo Chief Ejiamatu Enekwechi and the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency, Hon. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA).
The recognition formed part of the Anambra Patriots' "Celebrate
Our Own" initiative, a platform established to acknowledge outstanding
Anambra sons and daughters whose leadership, professionalism and commitment
have made meaningful contributions to the state's development. Organisers said
the initiative also reflects appreciation for Governor Soludo's resolve to
place capable and result-driven individuals in strategic positions to advance
his administration's vision of building a prosperous, liveable and globally
competitive Anambra.
The group, widely known for championing grassroots
mobilisation, accountability and good governance, said recognising excellence
inspires more citizens to serve with dedication while strengthening public
confidence in leadership. Members reaffirmed their readiness to continue
supporting policies and programmes that promote inclusive development and
sustainable progress across the state.
Chairman of the occasion and the Traditional Ruler of Umueri Kingdom, HRM Igwe Sir Ben Ndubuisi Emeka (Oke Ebo II), commended Governor Soludo for reappointing and elevating officials whose performances during his first term had distinguished them. According to the monarch, the governor's decisions demonstrate that commitment, hard work and integrity do not go unnoticed.
He urged all political office holders to remain focused on
delivering quality service to the people, stressing that faithful service is
always rewarded. He encouraged public servants to see their appointments as
opportunities to leave lasting legacies rather than merely occupy offices.
One of the major highlights of the event was the honour
bestowed on Arch. Okechukwu Ezeobi, who also serves as the National
Convener of the Anambra Patriots. The Coordinators Forum of the Patriots described
his appointment as Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure as a fitting
recognition of years of hard work, unwavering dedication and remarkable
contributions to the growth of Anambra State.
Presenting the award, members expressed confidence that
Ezeobi would justify the confidence reposed in him and achieve even greater
success in his new role.
Visibly emotional while responding, Ezeobi reflected on his
humble beginnings, saying he never imagined reaching such heights. He
attributed his achievements entirely to God's grace and thanked Governor Soludo
for the confidence placed in him. He also expressed profound appreciation to
the Anambra Patriots Coordinators Forum for the honour, pledging to work even
harder in delivering critical infrastructure projects that will improve the
lives of Ndi Anambra.
The forum also honoured Ozo Chief Ejiamatu Enekwechi,
National Chairman of the Anambra Patriots and recently elected as the first
substantive President of the Anambra Country Club, Awka. Members praised his
visionary leadership, innovation and commitment to community development,
describing his emergence as a reflection of years of selfless service.
Responding, Enekwechi commended Governor Soludo for
appointing members of the Anambra Patriots into strategic positions, describing
the appointments as recognition of the group's unwavering commitment to good
governance and responsible leadership. He thanked the Coordinators Forum for
the honour and assured members that all the appointees would remain
accountable, justify the confidence reposed in them and continue working in the
best interest of the state.
He also called on members of the organisation to strengthen
their support for Governor Soludo, expressing confidence that greater
achievements await Anambra under the governor's leadership.
Another recipient, Hon. Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata (CFA),
was honoured for his reappointment as the Managing Director and Chief Executive
Officer of the Anambra State ICT Agency. Members described his renewed mandate
as evidence of his exceptional performance in driving digital innovation and
expanding technology-driven governance across the state.
Expressing gratitude for the recognition, Agbata thanked the
Anambra Patriots for finding him worthy of the honour. He described the award
as both encouraging and humbling, promising to redouble his efforts and deliver
even greater results during his new tenure.
The event highlights the growing influence of the Anambra
Patriots as a platform dedicated to celebrating excellence, encouraging
effective leadership and promoting good governance.
As the event drew to a close, there was a shared message
from speakers and participants alike: recognising outstanding service is more
than a celebration of individual achievements. It is an investment in a culture
of excellence that encourages integrity, inspires future leaders and reinforces
the values needed to sustain Anambra's journey towards lasting development and
shared prosperity.
