Couple speak of love,
faith and lifelong commitment at well-attended ceremony
There was joy, colour and celebration in Nawgu, Dunukofia LGA, Anambra State on Saturday as families, friends and well-wishers gathered for the traditional marriage of Miss Blessing Chinecherem Udeozor and Pastor Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Ugwuoke.
The ceremony took place at Udeozor’s family compound, opposite Akwueso Village Hall, where the atmosphere was filled with music, dancing and cultural displays. Guests from different parts of the state and beyond attended the event, which was described as both beautiful and memorable.
Dressed in rich traditional attire, the couple received blessings from their families as customs were observed. The event followed the time-honoured traditions of the community, with elders and relatives playing key roles in the proceedings.
Speaking shortly after the ceremony, the groom, Emmanuel Chukwuebuka Ugwuoke, described his bride as a loving and God-fearing woman. He said he was grateful to God for bringing them together.
“My wife is a woman of deep faith and a caring heart,” he said. “From the beginning, I saw sincerity, humility and love in her. I thank God for guiding our journey and making this day possible. I am committed to loving her, supporting her and building a peaceful home together.”
An elated bride, Blessing Chinecherem Udeozor, also spoke warmly about her husband. She described him as kind, patient and dependable.
“He is a kind-hearted man who understands me and respects me,” she said. “I have seen his love and his commitment, and I am happy to spend the rest of my life with him. I pray that God will continue to guide us and strengthen our union.”
The bride’s father, Hon. Paul Udeozor, expressed gratitude to God for the successful ceremony and the growth of his family.
“I am thankful to God for what He has done in my family,” he said. “Today is a day of joy for us. We have watched our daughter grow, and now she is starting her own home. I pray that God will bless this union with peace, understanding and prosperity.”
Also speaking, the bride’s mother, Mrs. Christiana Udeozor, said she was overwhelmed with joy.
“My heart is full,” she said. “I thank God for giving us this day. As a mother, seeing your child settled brings great happiness. I pray that their home will be filled with love, respect and God’s presence.”
The ceremony featured traditional music, cultural dances and the exchange of gifts, reflecting the rich heritage of the community.
As the celebrations continued late into the day, many guests described the occasion as a true reflection of love, unity and tradition.

The marriage marks the
