ADC Vows To Defeat APC In 2027, Raises Fair Polls Concern

 By Ebube Chukwura

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) says it is confident of defeating the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, provided the contest is free and fair.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the position known during an interview with Symfoni TV.

Abdullahi said the ADC had prepared for the election and believed Nigerians would support it if voters were allowed to freely express their choice.

He, however, questioned whether the electoral process would be protected from manipulation, describing that as the party’s main concern.

“In a free and fair election, we have no doubt in our minds that we will win this election. The challenge is, will there be a free and fair election?” he said.

The ADC spokesman also warned that the party would take steps to protect its votes at polling units and during the collation process.

He said the party was prepared for possible challenges from the APC, although he declined to disclose its specific plans.

“We are ready for that. We are ready for anything,” Abdullahi said.

He added: “We will police our votes. We know the things that we will do. We won’t tell you, but we are ready for them.”

Abdullahi said the ADC understood the political contest ahead and would not leave the protection of its electoral mandate to chance.

His comments come as political parties begin positioning themselves for the 2027 elections, with concerns over electoral credibility, voter confidence and the conduct of the polls expected to remain central to the campaign.
